Future World : Where Arts meets Science

Digital Universe

Story by Ashok Kumar May 2nd, 2016

Sight to behold

You scroll Instagram, this is one exhibition you keep seeing recurring in your feed. Decided to find a day which I was totally free to head down to this exhibition. Being Singapore’s largest permanent digital gallery, it was really a jaw-dropper. Located at the ArtScience Museum, lights and technology could be seen everywhere. Another thing that was evident at the exhibit was the amount of happy children running around. Named Future World, it has 15 installations and all were worth taking a picture or two of.

Crystal Universe

Definitely my personal favourite of the exhibition, the Crystal Universe. Patrons are invited to walk into the three-dimensional space which actually feels like the easiest maze you will ever go through, But with the flickering lights, it might feel like a difficult walk for you. The lights which are controlled digitally, actually changes based on the viewer’s interactivity with the exhibit. I would admit at times, it was really an amazing ‘trippy’ sight to behold. Do yourself a favour, sit at the end of the walk and watch the amazing show. And of course, I’d let my pictures do the talking.
